My name is Kseniia and I have been in this program (business and management) for two and a half years. This glossary represents terms related to business and administration, their definition and translation.

Accounting

noun

The action or process of keeping financial accounts

Example: Finally, there is the same set of problems in respect to accounting and control in local as in central finance.

Credit

noun

The ability of a customer to obtain goods or services before payment, based on the trust that payment will be made in the future.

Example: I've got unlimited credit

Employee

noun

A person employed for wages or salary, especially at non-executive level.

Example: A good boss listens to his employees.

Human resources

noun

The department of a business or organization that deals with the hiring, administration, and training of personnel.

Example: Director of human resources at the company

Manager

noun

A person responsible for controlling or administering all or part of a company or similar organization.

Example: The manager of a bar.

Marketing

noun

The action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising.

Example: the Western arts of marketing and distribution

Publicity

noun

The giving out of information about a product, person, or company for advertising or promotional purposes.

Example: head of publicity and marketing.

Sale

noun

The exchange of a commodity for money; the action of selling something.

Example: We withdrew it from sale.

Stock

noun

The goods or merchandise kept on the premises of a business or warehouse and available for sale or distribution.

Example: The store has a very low turnover of stock

An instance of buying or selling something; a business deal.

Example: In an ordinary commercial transaction a delivery date is essential.
